Candid Summer Wedding: Avon, Indiana


With a very laid back and relaxed atmosphere, this summer wedding in Avon, IN was a smooth ride from start to finish with love filling every moment of the day. With the bride, Shelvia, and groom, Ryan, being the the forces that put the magic into this special day, there was never a dull moment with these two! With the perfect location overlooking a gorgeous water feature and a background of bright summer trees, no one could have asked for a more perfect day to celebrate such an intimate and candid wedding.


Ryan and Shelvia planned their summer wedding at Washington township park in Avon, Indiana where Shelvia had grown up around. There were a lot of memories made for this special couple at this park, making it the perfect destination to bring their love together and celebrate with the most important people in their lives.


About the Couple: Ryan and Shelvia


This perfectly matched pair wanted a fly-on-the-wall approach to their wedding with many natural wedding photos and a candid approach to capture their special day. Their main desire for their wedding day was to ensure that everyone was celebrating and having the best time with lots of laughs, music, dancing and love!


For Ryan and Shelvia, this wedding went beyond just their love as they were not only bringing their lives together, but the lives of their children in a merging of households as well. Including the children in the ceremony was such an important part of their wedding because it represented the love and commitment that they are sharing for all three children as well. They did this through a beautiful and intimate wedding ceremony where all of them combined their own rocks and sands into one beautiful vase to represent the binding of their lives.


Shelvia wore the most gorgeous and iridescent floor length strapless A-line gown that was encrusted with crystals and simple flats and her hair was braided and curled with the loveliest of hair pins to hold her hair in the most naturally elegant of hairstyles. Ryan wore a very stylish navy blue suit and brown shoes which just yelled class and sophistication while weary very goofy socks to be sure to let everyone know that he's still a laid back guy!


Shelvia and Ryan wanted wedding portraits that reflected their personality. To get a real authentic feel to their portraits, we went with a candid style where we walked around the gorgeous grounds and trails and captured many moments of love and joy and silliness that really showed their personalities. With natural wedding photography, the love and intimacy is the most important element and these two did not hold back!



About the Wedding:


This perfect little natural wedding was held on June the 24th at the Washington Township Pavilion with the most beautiful backdrop of perfect in bloom flowers and trees that were showing off their bright and vibrant green leaves and perfectly blue skies!


The family arrived around 11am and through teamwork we all helped to set up the reception and ceremony area. There's just something so special about the whole family coming together to create such a beautiful and intimate place to hold such an important milestone for the couple, the mood was truly elevated for everyone that day.


With the perfect spot for the bridal party to get ready, there was a lot of dancing around and laughing that happened throughout the whole morning and afternoon!


The ceremony started at 530pm on the dot with Shelvia and Ryan decided to have their first look be the moment that they met face to face at the top of the isle. Choosing to go nontraditional, the couple walked each other down the isla, arm in arm, starting this journey with one another.


After the most heartfelt vows I've ever heard in my life and a very long and dramatic first kiss that you see in perfect romance movies, the crowd filled with all of their loved ones cheered on!

This perfect little pavilion in the middle of a large, scenic park is the perfect place to have a very natural wedding or a very intimate wedding.

With the perfect location for the reception, the guest enjoyed a delicious taco bar followed by some party games, the first dance and lots and lots of laughter and partying!
